mnemonic’s Head of R&D Siri Bromander appointed to The Norwegian Board of Technology
Siri Bromander, Head of Research and Development at mnemonic, has been appointed as a board member of Teknologirådet – the Norwegian Board of Technology (NBT) – for the 2025-2028 term.

The Norwegian Board of Technology (NBT), established by the Norwegian Government in 1999, is an independent body that advises the Norwegian Parliament and government on the societal impacts of emerging technologies. It promotes public debate, supports political decision-making, and guides technological change through participatory methods such as citizens’ panels and scenario workshops. Current projects include generative AI, carbon capture, and anticipatory governance.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries (Nærings- og Fiskeridepartementet) has appointed a new Board of Technology for the period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2028. The board consists of 15 members, each limited to two terms. It brings together experts, decision-makers, and stakeholders with expertise in areas like artificial intelligence, geopolitics, health, fisheries, climate, ICT, and biotechnology. Members are chosen for their competence, ensuring a balanced representation of gender, geography, and age. In 2025, the Technology Board will receive a grant of NOK 13.3 million through the Research Council of Norway.
Bromander was chosen because of her expertise in both research and cybersecurity. She has a PhD in cyber threat intelligence, has been involved in several large research project at national and EU level, and currently serves on the portfolio board of enabling technologies in the Norwegian Research Council. She elaborates on the appointment: “It’s an honour to be asked and elected to be on the NBT. I hope my input helps understanding the cybersecurity challenges we face and highlight the important issues that need to be addressed in the years ahead. It is important for our collective ability to defend ourselves.”
Bromander continues: "The appointment of cybersecurity specialists to the NBT underscores the growing importance of cybersecurity for both the government and society. While this is a personal appointment, it also reflects mnemonic’s expertise in the field. I look forward to contributing with insights and advice on the societal impacts of technology."
